Wyke s opening game

With lasts weeks opening game cancelled the kids were looking forward to the short journey to Shaw Cross to take on a team that were unknown.

Preseason had been short and with some new faces and new playing rules it was going to be a test for the kids.

But we were not to be dissapointed. The kids adapted really well, although they looked like toddlers again on a large pitch. Shaw cross started strong and had impressive numbers which wouldnonly helpnwhen the kids were tiring. But that didnt phase Wyke. They went down to 2 tries with 1 converted early on it looked like it was going to be a long day but they kept plodding on and wyke scored and thier equaliser wasnt far behind.

Impressive kicking kept us in the game as shaw cross missed thier next conversion also. Wyke caught up yet again with a fully coverted try and if we would have had 10 more miniutes then there would have been no doubt that we would have won that game.

The coaches and parents we really proud of the kids performance on the pitch. We are looking forward to a exciting season.
