King cross away

Wyke made the short trip over to king cross with their under 17's who were taking on thier counterparts also. We had great support and some new faces. The coaches were trying to embed the defensive moves they have been practising in training, and the boys really showed thier worth.

Really good tackling from Finley Abrahams and Andrew Parkin kept out some tries in the first half. And some strong running by Alfie Barraclough and Charlie McShera kept it very close up to half time.

Wyke saw the debut of 3 new boys Bailey Tailford, Logan Metcalfe and Brooklyn Fynn and they didn't dissappoint, they all managed to get stuck right in and from an outsiders point of view you wouldn't have known it would have been thier first game. There strong presence made themselves known very fast.

SOme strong running by Lucas Range Bennett and Mark Gummery open the space up to let Wyke go over the line 6 times. But there were not strong enough to stop King cross go over in the last minutes.

Wyke hope to build on this performance when they face Drighlington at home next week.
