Chapletown away

Wyke made the short trip over Chapletown to return the fixture from late last year. Both sides were evenly matched and the sun was shining, so it was shaping up to be a good game of rugby.

The boys didn't dissappoint. They started strong, with some strong running from Alfie Barraclough and Andrew Parkin. Finley Abrahams managed to get through for Wykes first try. Closely following it up to bag himself a hatrick.

Chapletown replied with some fast pace down the wing, where they managed to score most of the tries, Wyke just couldn't catch them on the wing.

After the break Wyke put all of thier focus into the defence. Andrew parkin was on fire with tackle after tackle stopping everyone in thier tracks. Lucas Range Bennett managed to stop a couple of tries with his last ditch tackling.

The longer the match went on the more the boys got into it and Baz was behind the boys after every play getting them back into position to start again. They didn't let up until the final whistle.

Both teams played really well and they were very even,y matched. Brilliant game of rugby by some good players in beautiful conditions. This is what summer ugly is all about. The boys have a week off next week from the league as they are playing at Bradford Bulls. Watch out for them at half time
