A fantastic day for Wyke Rugby Leagues under 8’s team saw them record an emphatic win against Illingworth 32-0. The cold weather and muddy pitch did not dampen the team’s performance with the whole team tackling and driving hard.

A fantastic day for Wyke Rugby Leagues under 8’s team saw them record an emphatic win against Illingworth 32-0. The cold weather and muddy pitch did not dampen the team’s performance with the whole team tackling and driving hard.
Reece Broadbent was the star performer and Man of the Match with 3 tries from strong runs which saw him burst through Illingworth’s defence, closely followed by Aiden Law with 2 tries and Jake Rayner, Harry Owen and Macaulay Abrahams running in 1 try each.
Strong, straight running and tackling from Owen Cutler saw him collect the Most Improved performance but the Top Tacklers of the day were Jake Rayner and Joseph Flynn who continue to impress.
The whole team performed with Riley Firth driving and tackling hard, Dylan Frith producing strong runs and proving difficult to tackle, Harvey Dimbleby made some wonderful runs and Jack Birckett showed that he is a wonderful addition to the team. The whole performance leaves the team with a strong platform on which they can build over the coming weeks.
