Wyke under 8’s - Wibsey 12 v 40 Wyke
Wyke under 8s travelled to local rivals Wibsey to play in their Gala on Saturday morning .Wyke started strong with Jake Rayner scoring the opening try of the game, shortly following with his 2nd try of the game. Wyke defended well but they could not stop the home side sneaking through for a try. On Wyke’s next touch of the ball Joseph Fynn managed to score in the top corner, this was followed with a try for Dylan Frith. Wibsey brought the scores back to 16-12 after scoring twice, but Wyke managed a further two 2 tries before half time, when Toby Schofield and Riley Firth scored leaving the score 24-12 in Wyke’s favour.
Wyke started the 2nd half well with a succession of tries. Jake Rayner scored his 3rd try of the game to complete his hat-trick, this was followed by a 2nd try for both Dylan Frith and Toby Schofield. Aiden Law also got on the score sheet scoring the last points of the game.
Wyke defended well in the 2nd half with some awesome tackling from the whole team especially Jabriel Korlia, Harry Owen and Harry Young that prevented Wibsey scoring any points in the 2nd half.
The Final score was 40-12 to give Wyke their FIRST EVER WIN of the season.
