This weekend Wyke under 8’s took on King Cross in a pulsating encounter, the home side started strongly with some good defensive work.
Wyke scored two quick tries when it was their turn with the ball, Jake Rayner outpaced the would be tacklers and scored out wide.

King Cross brought the score back to 8 a-piece with two tries of their own.
Wyke responded with a further two tries from Jabriel Karolia and Toby Schofield, but before the half time whistle, King Cross scored a further two tries to make the half-time score 16-16.

The 2nd half was a close fought encounter with the tries being scored on a tit for tat basis; Wyke’s Jake Rayner scored his hat-trick of tries, Jabriel Karolia grabbed his brace and Thomas Ockerby and Dylan Frith got themselves on the score sheet. King Cross fought back well and the game finished 32-36 to King Cross.

There was some fantastic defending from Aidan Law, Joseph Fynn, Harry Young and Riley Firth. With the Man of Match accolades went to Jake Rayner, the Top Tackler went to Macaulay Abrahams and the most improved player was Owen Cutler.
