Wyke 4 v 36 Slaithwaite Saracens
Wyke played host to Slaithwaite Saracens on Sunday, who were a big experienced side.
The visiting team took an early lead after running in a handful of tries and by half time the score was 24-0 in Slaithwaite’s favour. Wyke’s defence were competing at their best with great tackling from McCauley Abrahams, Sam Robinson and Thomas Ockerby, but they could not keep the large Slaithwaite team at bay.
In the 2nd half Wyke finally got one on the scoreboard with a superbly taken try out wide by Sienna McPherson.
Wyke still tackled well, restricting the visitors to only 3 tries in the 2nd half, with the final score finishing at 4-36 to Slaithwaite.
Wyke should be proud with their performance, even with the loss. Not forgetting strong running from Toby Schofield, Reece Broadbent, Riley Firth, Jabriel Karolia and Harry Young. Man of match goes to McCauley Abrahams. Most improved performance went to Dylan Frith and the top tackler accolade for the third week running goes to Joseph Fynn.
