Wyke travelled to West Bowling in anticipation of an exciting encounter with their local rivals and the children of both teams did not disappoint the expectant crowd.
Wyke took an early lead when Thomas Ockerby scored a delightful try from the first set of 6. West Bowling brought the scores level and then they added a second to push into an early advantage.
Harry Owen then set off on a blistering run and rounded the defence to score in the corner. Owen then outpaced the defence again to score his 2nd try followed by Dylan Frith to bring the score to 16 a–piece at half time.
The score board moved along as West Bowling scored a further two tires in the 2nd half to bring the score to 16-24. Wyke soon got back on the score board, when Jabriel Korlia outpaced the opposition and scored out wide in the top corner. Bowling pushed themselves further ahead with two further tries. Then Harvey Dimbleby scored his first try of season bringing the final score to 24-32.
The Man of match accolade went to Harry Owen, the top tackler was split three ways between Harry Young, Reece Broadbent and Toby Schofield and the most improved performance went to Harvey Dimbleby. Wyke can be proud of their performance with some fantastic running by Reece Broadbent, Sam Robinson, and great defence from Joseph Fynn, and Riley Firth.
