Wyke are still without halfback and captain Jordan Payton and props Ash Hutchinson and Ben Kelly remain sidelined. However prop duo Charles Grocock and Luke Robinson are in formidable form for the black and whites. With Brad Clarkson taking over from the injured captain by grabbing the man of the match Wyke are certainly not short of quality. With the luxury of been able to take 19 coach Ian Wormald has made a couple of surprise decisions after watching the academy side go top on Saturday. Wormald said “we go over there in good form as not only a team but a squad. After watching the academy last week I’ve decided to give a couple of stand out players an opportunity. Under 18 Callum Scott gets his first opportunity he is constantly in the man of the matches, he shows up well in training and knows the game inside out. Also getting his first shot is Jamie Kerr who for me was the best player on the park last Saturday, scoring 2 and his defence against a bigger side was solid. After watching last week these guys along with a couple of others such as Seth Whomack and Luke Delahunty are pushing the settled first teamers now”.
