Wyke Academy produced a fantastic performance defeating Queensbury 70-8

Queensbury kicked the game off and Wyke started the game strong a good run from Lamech earned Wyke a penalty and from the set that followed Wyke thought they opened the scoring as Aaron Priestley grounded the ball only for the referee to disallow it for offside. Wyke defended well and got the ball back, Jonny Fawthrop made a good break and had Callum Scott in support but the offload went to ground. Wyke did get the opening try of the game as captain James Cullen broke through to score under the sticks, Josh McGuinness with the conversion. Wyke again would cross the whiteline in the next set as Tevin Campbell showed great strength to get the ball down outwide, Josh McGuinness with a good conversion. An error from Wyke from kick off gifted Queensbury the ball but a knock on followed by back chat saw Wyke in good field position. Young hooker Callum Scott forced his way over the tryline to extend Wyke's lead (18-0). Great defence again from Wyke forced Queensbury to knock on and would get the 4th try of the game as Stuart showed his strength to get over the tryline again Josh with the kick. Another try soon followed a good break from Nathan Marchant saw him offload to Jack Poertus who fed the ball back to Nathan who found Conor Laverick with the offload to see the young forward cross for a great team try. Josh converting again to make it 30-0. Two more Wyke tries would follow as Cameron Foster used his size to get over the line outwide and Lamech showing again his speed to go the full length off the field, Josh McGuinness converting both

Half time: Wyke 42 - 0 Queensbury

Queensbury's Day got even worse in the second half as their number 6 was sin binned for dissent and Wyke took advantage off having the extra man as Cameron Foster crossed for his second try of the game. Josh McGuinness with another great conversion. Queensbury would eventually get over the try line as they went in under the sticks but somehow the conversion was missed. Some great defence from Seth Whomack forced Queensbury to knock on and fast thinking from Wyke saw Jamie go over in the corner. A few knock ons followed but Wyke through Luke Robinson, Jonny Fawthrop and Callum Scott kept Queensbury out. Great work from Luke Robinson, Tevin, Conor Laverick and Nathan saw Josh McGuinness cross for the easiest try he will ever score. (58-4). Queensbury got their second try of the game but again the kick was missed. Good play from Josh and James Cullen saw Josh again cross the whiteline for his second try. The final try of the game came from Conor Laverick, James and Nathan again involved as they ripped the Queensbury defence apart and found Conor to cross under the sticks
