Engage with your Club
Wyke ARLFC have entered the following competition advertised by the RFL.
The "Engage with your Club” programme is back for its 4th year.
The aim of Engage with your Club is to inspire and assist clubs in generating a volunteer workforce, dedicated to improving club facilities by coming together to hold an Action Event.
Your event can be as big or small as you wish. ANYTHING that contributes to an improvement of your club environment will qualify. In the past, projects have ranged from painting changing rooms to complete refurbishment of social facilities and from litter picks and trimming shrubbery to building pitch perimeter safety barriers.
This year a top prize of £3000 will be given to the best project as judged by the RFL Facilities Trust and there are even more chances to win as all clubs that complete an action event will be placed in a draw to win one of seven £1000 prizes.
We now require volunteers to help with the following project.
• To improve the pitch drainage
• Lay paving and build steps from the new changing facilities to the pitch.
We aim to carry out the work on August 23rd (Challenge Cup Final day).
The club will provide materials we just need your muscle and knowledge to put the plan into action.
If all goes to plan we will begin work at around 09:00am after bacon butties and coffee supplied by the club.
At around 1400 we will fire up the BBQ and open the beer tent (so that's our incentive for the makeover) then sit back to watch the cup final in the community room.
If you have the skills or more importantly the inclination please volunteer by contacting
Bob Willan 07974413835 or r.willan1@sky.com
or
Jason Whomack 07774429351 or jason.whomack@powellind.com
