Wyke First team travel to Osset knowing a win would secure them top spot in the league for the second year running. Wyke travel without Alec Williams however have Oscar Woodhead, Cameron Foster and Brad Clarkson back in the squad. Wyke also have ex Bradford Dudley Hill stalwart, Willy Woodhead ready to make his debut.
Wykes Academy make the very short journey to Odsal Sedgeburgh after a good victory last week over a sprightly west bowling outfit. Again the academy have a number of players returning from holidays and other commitments including captain Michael Wormald, Aaron Priestley, Barry McShera, Brett Gray and Danny Worby.
Coach Ian Wormald said “our firsts have an opportunity to wrap the league up and go into the playoffs in top spot, however Osset are a very well drilled side and committed to both their coach and each other, however I believe if we play to our potential and show up with our recent form we can grab the win. We have some selection headaches this week with more players returning than not been available and some great performances last week however that’s my job and I’ll take what I feel will get the win. The academy travel to sedge who have a great nuculous of players and some key people around them. Again I think with the players available and the firsts having 24 to pick from we can go there and cause an upset”.
Both games are away but get down and support the lads.
